It all started when…

The tenacious Margo Wickersham learned early in life that relationship building is her superpower, and she’s exercised that skill throughout her life to help others help themselves. With relentless and fierce perseverance, she endured soul-crushing challenges, unbearable physical pain, and shocking emotional and bodily losses during a year that challenged the entire world. Her ability to channel gratitude strengthened her grit and determination beyond her wildest imagination, which she credits—along with the doctors at MD Anderson—for surviving and thriving after cancer and loss.

A Jacksonville, Florida, native, Margo has always loved being by or in the water. She’s been certified to SCUBA dive since 1988. She worked full-time to earn her degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has enjoyed a varied and colorful sales and marketing career ever since.

As a dell.com website manager, Margo led her team to create an award-winning redesign of the e-commerce site, created and launched successful PR and marketing campaigns, and built partner programs from the ground up. She is an accomplished author, speaker, and trainer. Margo has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Tampa Business Journal, West Austin News, Money Inc., Self Esteem Magazine, and Exceptional People Magazine, among others. She has written blogs; participated as a guest on several podcasts and YouTube channels, including The Patient Story, the Bladder Cancer Awareness Network (BCAN) and MD Anderson Cancer Center; and has been featured as a guest speaker at numerous local, national, and international events.

Well before self-publishing was commonplace, Margo published her grandparents’ memoirs, an onerous yet rewarding task. As she presented the finished books to her grandparents while visiting them in Pensacola, Florida, a Pensacola Times reporter captured the touching moment and printed the story on the front cover of the People section.

The proud mother of two outstanding adult children, Read and Rachel, Margo takes every opportunity to spend time with them and her wonderful husband Coleman. She and Coleman are thriving empty-nesters in Austin, Texas, where they walk and hike with their two dogs, Casey and Nova. They recently purchased a condo on the beach and stay there every chance they get.
